Germans name these small goodies as kels whereas people from Northern part of America name them cookies. Earliest forms of cookies actually were just tiny cakes known as koeje, a simple Dutch term for small cakes. This term koekje later developed and become cookie. Regardless of the label or name given to this delicious and aromatic flavor, they remain good treats for all children.

3.Peanut Butter cookie: Undoubtedly, this flavor is very much liked by children. You may enhance the flavor by using known brands such as: Jiffy, Skippy or Peter Pan peanut spread. When you want, you may combine it with choco-chips. You may also make your cookies healthier by using peanut spread that has no preservatives. The ingredients are: brown or unrefined sugar, eggs, peanut spread, butter/margarine, flour, shortening, leavening agent, salt, sugar (granulated) and baking agent.

4.Choco-Chip Cookies: Choco chip cookies are really famous to children. They feel soft, moist and chewy. You may consider the usual choco-chips, milk-choco chunks and gourmet choco-chips. Any of them would be a sure hit with your children. The usual ingredients are: eggs, melted unsalted margarine or butter, brown or unrefined sugar, flour (all-purpose), white or refined sugar, salt, vanilla, leavening agent and lastly partially sweet choco-chips/chunks.

5.Sugar-Flavored Cookies: This flavor of cookies is sweet and delicious. Plus, this cookie may be cut in various figures and designs. Ingredients are: margarine/ butter), sugar (granulated), flour (all-purpose), leavening soda, eggs, salt, vanilla and cream of tartar.

Raspberry White Chocolate Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

A tsp of baking soda
half a tsp of shortening
1 c of sugar; granulated
1/4 tsp of salt
1/2 c of butter; melted
2 pcs of eggs
2 and 3/4 c of flour (all-purpose)
1/2 c of raspberry jam (seedless)
11 oz of baking bars (white chocolate)

Instructions:

Prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing it with butter. Set aside. Heat up the oven (375 degrees F). Cut about 4 oz white choco bars and put aside. Use a saucepan (small and heavy) to melt another 4 oz of choco bars in low-level heat, stirring it continuously; set mixture aside so that it cools.

With a bowl mix the ingredients, beat softened butter, salt, baking soda, and sugar ’til it becomes fluffy. Mix a couple of eggs together w/ melted choco bars and beat mixture ’til combined. Use a mixer to beat in (as much) flour, and stir what remains of flour w/ a spoon (wooden). Then, add the previously cut white choco bars.

Drop the dough on baking sheet w/ a round teaspoon (2 inches apart). Cook in oven for about 7-9 mins in set heat. Let the candy cool to about 1 min; then place it in wire rack.

Prior to serving, the jam must be melted. Place a minute amount of jam at the cookie’s center. Melt remaining 3 oz of choco bars using shortening and stir continuously. Dribble melted choco into cookie and refrigerate it for a quarter of an hour ’til melted choco sets.

Chocolate Almond Bonbons Recipe


Chocolate Almond Bonbons Recipe

Ingredients:

2 c of flour; sifted
1/2 tsp of salt
2 tbsps of milk
4 ozs of milk chocolate candy
3/4 c of butter
2 tsps of vanilla extract
1/4 c of sugar

For Filling:
1 tbsp of water
1 white of egg (unbeaten)
1/2 c of almond nuts
1/2 tsp of almond extract

Instructions:

Sift salt and flour together. Melt chocolate candy together with milk inside Microwave or over boiling water. Beat butter then slowly add vanilla and sugar, blend well until creamy.

Mix filling ingredients together in your mixing bowl. Blend well. Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into small balls. Make an opening in middle of each then place 1/4 tsp of filling.

Close the hole then drop on an ungreased cookie sheet. Then, bake for 12 to 15 mins. at 350 degrees F. Dust with confectioner’s sugar after they get baked, or roll on sugar granules before you bake them up.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies


Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies

Ingredients:

1 c of butter
1/2 tsp of salt
3/4 c of sugar (powdered)
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of almond extract)
2 1/4 c of flour;sifted
1/4 c of nuts; chopped fine
1/2 c of cherries (Maraschino); well-drained & chopped

For Dip:
3 tbsps of butter
1 c of chocolate pcs (semi-sweet)
3 c of sugar (powdered)
1/2 c of milk

Instructions:

Mix powdered sugar & butter until creamy. Add salt, almond and vanilla extracts. Beat in flour, cherries and nuts, blend well.

Shape teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls. Arrange on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 15 to 18 mins. at 350 degrees F.

To make the dip, melt butter, milk & choco pieces in your double boiler. Let cool then add in your 3 c of sugar( powdered & sifted), beat till smooth.

Dip cookies in melted choco completely. Add a little cherry atop each. Keep on cooling racks till chocolate sets then store inside your refrigerator.

Cappuccino Cookie Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

1 c of softened butter
1 c of sugar(light brown)
1 yolk of egg
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1.5 c of flour (all-purpose)
1/4 tsp of salt
1.5 c of walnuts; chopped
8 bars of chocolate candy (1.5-oz. each)
1/2 c of coffee beans; ground

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees F. Prepare “9×13″ greased pan.
Mix sugar, butter, yolk & vanilla in large mixing bowl and beat until creamy.

Mix flour & salt together, then add to batter. Pour into pan and level onto the bottom. Bake pan for about 15 mins. Take out of oven then, place candy bars on top of the crust and leave until chocolate(bars) have melted.

Use spatula to completely spread out the melted chocolate. Next, sprinkle walnuts & coffee. Let cool totally before slicing in squares.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

1 1/3 c of flour;sifted
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/3 c of shortening (vegetable)
3/4 c of sugar
1/4 c of hot water
1/2 tsp of salt
1 pc egg
1.5 tsps of vanilla extract
1 c of chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

Instructions:

Sift salt, baking soda & flour together. Cream sugar and shortening. Add in vanilla and egg then beat them until fluffy and light.

Add in those sifted ingredients then blend thoroughly. Add hot water then fold in choco chips. Pour into greased 8×8x2-inch pan and flour it lightly. Then bake for 35 to 40 mins. at 350 degrees F. Cut cooled cookie into small bars.

Apple Sour Cream Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

Sugar (confectioners’)
2 c of sugar (brown)
1 egg
1/2 c of butter; melted
1/2 c of nuts; chopped
1 c of sour-cream
1 teaspoon of vanilla (extract)
1 tsp of baking soda
2 c of apples; chopped
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 of tsp of cinnamon
2 c of flour

Instructions:

Set power mixer to slow. Mix sugar (brown), butter and flour till we get little crumbs. Add the nuts. Pour batter (2 1/4 cups) into 9×13″ pan (ungreased) and then compress.

In another bowl, combine remaining ingredients other than apples well. Fold in apples. Spread the batter onto the crust. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees F
