5 Easy-To-Follow Steps For Really Moist & Chewy Cookies

5 Easy-To-Follow Steps For Really Moist & Chewy Cookies

Making a hard or crunchy cookie is easy to prepare but making chewy and soft cookies is really a challenge. But don’t you worry, because herewith are some easy procedures to prepare or bake soft, moist and great tasting cookies.

1.Know exactly how long you should bake or cook the cookie mixture or dough. Unlike any other baked goodies, cookies are easy to prepare – that is why they only require a few minutes to prepare. So if by any chance you leave them inside your oven for more than the required baking period, the baked dough is likely to become crunchy or hard. In order to create chewy and moist cookies, remove the pan from your oven until the sides of your cookies are slightly brown and the center looks soft. Don’t worry about the soft part of the baked dough because they continue baking even after you’ve gotten them out of your oven. The remaining heat of the pan is enough to completely cook your delicious cookies. Let the baked cookies cool down before transferring them into another plate or tray.

2.Know the exact amount of flour needed. Cooking pastry including cookies require precise measurement of ingredients particularly the flour. Cookies or other pastries become hard whenever you add huge amount flour. Every time you combine flour in your mixture, see to it that you fluff it up by slightly whisking it using spoon. Put the required amount in a measuring cup but don’t compress or tamp the flour. You may use spatula or a knife with flat edges to remove the excess flour.

3.Know the sweetener that you’ll use. Some people are not aware that the kinds of sweetener or sugar you add or use for your cookie mixture produces a huge effect to its consistency. Putting white or refined sugar results to crunchier cookies while those cookies which are made using brown or unrefined sugar, honey and molasses become soft. Whenever you want to prepare or bake chewy and moist cookies, you may use corn or heavy syrup.

4.Keep the mixture or dough cool. Before baking your cookies or dough try to place it inside the fridge for few minutes before baking it. Cooled or chilled dough usually results to thick and soft cookies while warm dough is likely to produce flat and crunchy cookies.

5.Keep your baked cookies properly. Cookies are similar to other pastry goodies; they need to be kept properly to maintain their great taste and texture. Baked cookies need to be placed in a sealed jar or container after they have cooled down. Never store your baked cookies unless they have completely cooled or else cookies will become tacky because of the humidity or moisture they’ll generate inside the container. In order to maintain the chewy and moist consistency of your baked cookies, put an apple or small bread inside the container. The apple and the bread will give ample moisture to your stored cookies which maintains the chewy and soft texture of these delights.

Chewy & Soft Choco Chip Cookies Made Real Easy!

Chewy & Soft Choco Chip Cookies Made Real Easy!

Choco-chip cookies are a much-loved treat and making them is really something that you should take the time to learn. These cookies are either crunchy, soft or etc.

Making these soft choco-chip cookies might seem a very hard challenge but I assure you it isn’t. Just take note of a couple of steps in making your cookie batter.

Normally an easy & good choco-chip cookie recipe would be the standard ones placed at the back portion of those choco chip packages. For your dough, just be sure to thoroughly mix the butter and sugars using your electric hand-held/ordinary mixer until dough is quite fluffy. Watch out for lumps of sugar & butter then be sure that they are already gone before adding in your vanilla and eggs.

These first few steps are crucial to getting those soft cookies. Don’t beat your batter together with eggs otherwise they might not become airy & fluffly. Just incorporate all ingredients until they are mixed together. Be careful not to overbeat your dough.

Next, into another bowl, combine salt, baking soda & flour together then mix them using your spoon then sift afterwards. If recipe requires flour (sifted) then be sure to sift your flour. After sifting, you stat adding in flour mix to your wet recipe ingredients until everything is incorporated well & add your choco chips.

Place your dough inside the refrigerator for around 2 hrs or better if overnight. When baking, preheat yor oven first before actual baking process. Roll out dough in 2-inch round shapes then place them 2-inches away from each other on your greased baking/cookie sheet. Be sure your sheet isn’t warm when you arrange your cookies onto it. You could even place it inside your fridge prior to baking.

Then, bake your cookies as per directions until they appear light golden and browned. But make sure cookies aren’t darkly browned or they might be crunchy and a bit hard. Be careful when cooking so you will get those lovely soft cookies and not the hard & crunchy ones. Take note of the steps above and for sure you will get those soft chewy cookies.

Enjoy!

Chewy Choco Cookies

Ingredients:

1 box dark chocolate or milk chocolate cake mix (preferably use 1 of the brands that have the one cup of pudding mix already added to the mix. Use either Pillsbury or Betty Crocker.)
1 cup baking chocolate chips
Halfway in-between 1/3 and 1/2 cup oil
2 eggs

Instructions:

Mix together into a large bowl your cake mix, eggs and oil, using large mixing spoon. The oil must be halfway in between the 1/3 and 1/2 mark. I’ve found that any more is too oily and any less makes the cookies dry. After finishing mixing the ingredients, pour in 1 cup chocolate chips and mix again. Drop one inch balls onto cookie sheet.

Try to smooth out the balls by rolling them in between your palms before plopping them down for a more evenly baked, round cookie
Bake at 350 degrees, for 6-8 minutes. Cool for a few minutes before serving. Cookies initially will come out a bit puffy, but will sink down once cooled for a few minutes.

10 Useful Tips For Baking Flavorful Cookie Treats!

10 Useful Tips For Baking Flavorful Cookie Treats!

Baking or making cookies is easy to do but when you want to achieve better tasting cookies you need to follow these simple tips and tricks that have been tried and tested to achieve yummier results.

1.If you want to make light yet crunchy cookies, you need to combine the ingredients using an automatic mixer. However, when you want thicker cookies you need to mix your dough manually. Remember not to over beat or mix or beat the mixture or dough because it can result to hard and thick cookies.

2.When the cookie recipe needs butter by all means put this ingredient in. But if in case you don’t have butter, margarine and shortening are acceptable replacements.

3.Usually cookies that are made using shortening are thick while cookies which use margarine and butter are flat but they are flavorful and tastier. When you want to create thick and flavorful cookies then use 50 percent light margarine/ butter and 50 percent of shortening.

4.In order not to overcook the cookie mixture, try to find and use a pan that does not stick and reduce your oven temp. by around 25 deg..

5.If you use the regular baking tray for the cookies, place a ply of parchment sheet first before baking. The parchment sheet is going to prevent cookies from sticking to the tray which makes cleaning easier.

6.If you intend to bake several trays of tasty cookies, see to it that you use a minimum of two or more baking trays to prevent dough from spreading. You need to keep in mind that placing your dough or cookie mixture onto hot surfaces can result to flat and unappealing cookies.

7.When you are ready to bake, see to it that you put the cookies within the center of your oven to allow equal heat distribution. A common practice in preparing cookies is providing 2-inch allowance on every side of your baking tray from the surface of your oven.

8.Be patient in baking your dough or cookies. Bake or put each baking tray inside your oven one at a time. When you put 2 baking pans simultaneously, the cookies or you dough mixture might not be properly baked. Some might be overcooked while some can be half-baked.

9.When placing the scoops of dough onto the baking tray, allow a minimum of one to 2-inch space between each cookie as well as at the sides of your baking tray. This provides equal distribution of heat which results to even baking of your great tasting cookies.

10.If you worry about making equal sizes of your dough or cookies, you may use a scoop just like the one you use in scooping your ice cream to measure the mixture or dough. Using an ice cream scooper allows cookies to have equal sizes.

These tips are recommended by experienced bakers so they are proven useful in preparing and baking perfectly yummy cookies. Have fun!

The Right Way To Freeze Your Cookies & Cookie Dough

The Right Way To Freeze Your Cookies & Cookie Dough

Some amateur bakers often ask if they can freeze or chill their cookies & cookie doughs. Of course, you may chill or freeze your cookie mixtures but not all cookie mixtures turn out to be successful when frozen.

Avoid freezing cookies with cream filling, meringues and any cookie mixture with a beaten egg white as one of its ingredients. Freezing or chilling these types will not be good because egg white in cookies tend to separate when they’re frozen. Although other kinds of dough/cookie mixtures become even better when frozen.

If you want to freeze or chill your freshly-baked cookies, you may cover them thoroughly with plastic and put them inside a freezer/ziploc bag. Another way to store these yummy cookies is to place them inside a clean container but divide each layer with plastic/serran wrap or with some waxed paper.

In most cases, the cookie mixture is often chilled rather than the already cooked cookies because cookies which are freshly-baked smell good and taste better than those that have been stored for quite some time.

For easier baking and preparation, it’s better to mold the cookie mixture into small logs before freezing. This way you may easily cut the cookie mixture and achieve even portions of cookies.

When making your cookie dough logs, you need to put ample amounts of cookie dough mixture on a piece of parchment or waxed paper. Then mold dough mixture into small log shapes that measure around 10-inches long with a diameter of 1.5 to two inches. Cover or seal the mixture properly by twisting its ends just like in candies. After properly sealing it, put the small logs inside a freezer/ziploc bag & place them inside your freezer.

In order to make sure that the cookie dough logs still have their proper shapes and not go flat on just one face, you may get them out of your freezer once they have been chilled for half an hour. Roll them again on a clean and flat surface and smooth out its flattened side.
If you want to freeze cookies individually, you need to shape your cookie mixture according to your preferred sizes and chill them until they’re hard and solid. When cookies are frozen, place them inside a ziploc bag or cover them twice for better protection before placing them inside your freezer.

Always put tags or labels on your plastic bags including the type of cookies & the dates that they were made. Never freeze your cookie mixture for more than three months to retain the flavor and freshness.

If you plan in baking your frozen or chilled dough logs, get them out of your chiller or freezer. Your small cookie mixture rounds which you just made are now ready for baking although they might need additional minutes inside your oven. Beat the eggs ’til foamy and pour the rest of the ingredients for filling. Continue beating with moderate speed for a minute or ’til well-blended. Slowly spread the mixture evenly on the half-baked crust. Return to oven and bake ’til the surface is dark gold brown in color or around 20 to 25 minutes, and when center sets.

Using a saucepan, cook the oil and semi-sweet choco chips on moderate heat while stirring regularly. When the chips already melts completely, slowly pour and distribute evenly on filling. Add pecans on top and put into the refrigerator for about one and a half hour or ’til the chocolate sets.
